Stojan’s Power Sports
& Can-Am

The Commander, the build, and the shop that keeps the main rig running.

Wild Latitude with Stacie and Ryan Stojan's Power Sports and Marine Can-Am

Our first partners, and the reason the Commander is out there at all. A big thank you to Rene and Jerry at Stojan’s, and to the whole Can-Am family.

The Shop Behind the Main Rig

The Can-Am Commander XT-P is the main backcountry vehicle on the channel. It is in nearly every trip, and it carries the work past where the truck stops.

They specced it, built it, and they are the ones who keep it running between trips. When something needs fixing before we head out, they are who we call.

They have been selling into the Peace Country since 1969, which is the same country we film in. If you have watched the Commander climb a ridgeline and thought about doing that yourself, this is the shop where it would start.

Stojan’s & Can-Am

The Can-Am Commander XT-P is the main rig: a Commander built for the work, specced on the Can-Am Build Your Own tool and built and serviced at Stojan’s. Everything on it is there because a trip taught us we needed it.

Ryan & Stacie’s First Eyes on the Commander

Shot in the lot at Stojan’s the day the build was finished, and sent straight to Stacie before either of us had driven it.

Orange beadlocks, front bumper and winch, roof, and a full cage. This is the machine that shows up in nearly every trip after this.

The Build, Up Close

The Commander, Built

Specced on the Can-Am Build Your Own tool, then quoted and fitted by the Can-Am Parts & Service Team at Stojan’s. Three angles, and the parts that earn their place. Tap a marker to see what each one is and why it is on there.

Roof rack

A full black roof rack over the hard roof. Fuel, water, traction boards, and everything that only comes off once a day rides up here, out of the seats and out of the box.

Rear rack and trunk box

A rear luggage rack carrying a hard trunk box, with the multifunction panel closing in the back of the cab. Camera bodies and batteries ride in there dry, and come out at the trailhead.

Bed extender

A rear chassis extension with its own tailgate panel, adding length behind the factory box. It is the difference between packing for a weekend and packing for a week.

Rear protection

A rear skid plate and heavy plastic A-arm protectors across the back end. Deadfall and rock ledges hit the guards instead of the driveline.

The Commander is a living, breathing beast, and not every modification shows up in a render. The build sheet also carries a backup camera and a forward camera, a second battery and holder, tie-downs, a device mount, and the wiring and switch harnesses that run all of it. Things change out there, and the machine changes with them.

#Dreaming · Not Built

Winter Mode

This one is not in the plan. There is no parts sheet, no quote, and no date on it. It is the dream board: tracks, a heater, and proper window enclosures. We live in a winter wonderland, and a country that is under snow for five months of the year deserves exploring all 365 days, not just the easy two hundred.

Concept render of the Can-Am Commander XT-P on four tracks, side profile
Tracks, not tires

Four tracks in place of four wheels. It is the one change that turns a machine which stops at the first deep drift into one that keeps going all winter.

Proper window enclosures

Soft doors are the right call for summer. Winter wants hard doors, glass, and a cab that genuinely seals, so the heat stays in and the spindrift stays out.

Heat that earns its keep

The defrost, heat, and ventilation system is already in the summer build. In January it stops being a comfort item and becomes the reason a full day out is possible at all.

#Dreaming  ·  Concept renders only. Nothing on this board is ordered, quoted, or scheduled.

Your Next Adventure Starts at Stojan’s

It starts with walking in the door: the showroom, the build, and the first ride. When the next family is ready to get out into their own backyard, this is where it begins.

The Platform Everything Is Shot On

The Commander XT-P is the backcountry workhorse: it gets us, and the office, past where the truck stops.

It also shows up well beyond its own features. When we review other gear, the Starlink Mini, mounting kits, camera rigs, the Commander is the platform it is all shot on and around. The rig keeps appearing, trip after trip.

Stojan’s is the authorised Can-Am dealer for the region, on-road and off-road, so the brand and the shop point at the same door.

Most of It Is Closer Than You Think

Most people who would love one of these live about an hour from trails they have never used. That was true of us, right up until it wasn’t.
